Anisotropic mean curvature flow (or anisotropic geometric diffusion) is a geometric flow that is designed to remove noise from surface data while preserving (or even enhancing) features, like sharp edges or corners. The effect is achieved by modifying the mean curvature flow such that diffusion of the surface is suppressed in areas that have high values of curvature.
