Download JavaView Archives

Instructions:

  1. Determine if you either want a separate JavaView installation
or want to run JavaView within Mathematica or Maple
  2. Download the corresponding ZIP file by clicking on its name
  3. Extract the ZIP file to a directory of your choice, say <JavaView>/
When unzipping, ensure that the directory structure of the ZIP file and the case of filenames is preserved.
  4. Authors may want to download additional files from the Tools section and extract to the same directory
  5. Read the included file <JavaView>/readme.txt and <JavaView>/readme_linux.txt for further installation instructions
  6. For v3.0 and later, register online and save the obtained license file as <JavaView>/rsrc/jv-lic.lic

Registration

Registration is needed for users of the JavaView application. The usage of applets does not require any registration.

Beta Versions new

Latest public beta versions of JavaView are available at www.javaview.de/download/beta/. Beta versions require the same registration as release versions. There is no support for beta versions although we strongly encourage testing and bug reports.

Current Release v3.95.001 (Major Upgrade Release (patch 1))

Version v3.95.001 is an update of v3.95 which resolves a bug in the license module and must be installed by all users of JavaView to properly recognize licenses issues after November 1, 2007. If you have an existing v3.95 installation, then simply install v3.95.001 over the existing installation. Version v3.95 is fully compatible to v3.95.001.

The build number of the current release is specified in _jarVersion.txt.

Download one of the following installation packages depending on your operating system.

(1) Installer (MS-Windows only) new:

javaviewWin_setup.exe ~9.0 MB The full JavaView software bundle and utility files. Includes the JavaView archives, application, doc, sample models, tutorial source code.
Includes full installation of JavaView within Mathematica.

(2) Full JavaView Package (MS-Windows and Unix):

javaviewFull.zip ~15.0 MB The JavaView software bundle and utility files. Includes the JavaView archives, application, doc, sample models, tutorial source code.
Users of Mathematica and Maple must download a separate package, see below.

(3) JavaView Base System (RPM Bundle for Linux) new:

javaview-3.90-1-linux-2.6-intel.rpm
STILL v3.90, use (2)
~2.8 MB The JavaView software bundle without utility files. Allows to run the JavaView application on a local computer, and to develop and publish own applets.
(Thanks to Nicolas M. Thiéry for providing the RPM bundle)
Users of Mathematica and Maple must download a separate package, see below.

Individual JavaView Installation Packages:

javaview.zip ~2.8 MB The JavaView software bundle without utility files. Allows to run the JavaView application on a local computer, and to develop and publish own applets.
jv_exe.zip ~2.4 MB (deprecated) JavaView as MS-Windows applications. It runs only under MS-Windows using the unsupported MS Java virtual machine but still a convenient tool if you want to avoid downloading a different Java virtual machine.

jv_math.zip ~3.0 MB JavaView for Mathematica
The JavaView software bundle for integration with Mathematica.
Allows to run JavaView within Mathematica.
jv_maple.zip ~3.0 MB JavaView for Maple (JVL 3.22)
The JavaView software bundle for integration with Maple.
Allows to run JavaView within Maple.

Tools for Developers:

Extract these ZIP files in the same directory <JavaView> where javaview.zip was extracted.

jv_tutor.zip ~0.5 MB Source code of the tutorial applets of JavaView. The applets describe step-by-step how to use JavaView's class library to write own applets. Each tutorial consists of a specific task and provides the corresponding Java source code.
jv_doc.zip ~3.9 MB Reference documentation of the JavaView produced from source code including all public member variables and methods.
jv_models.zip ~5.6 MB JavaView's collection of sample geometry models
